So I've had a few more features published in the paper in the last few weeks if anybody's interested in reading them.
I find it funny that somebody commented it must be a slow news day if we were writing about Ugg boots. I wanted to post that since they were reading stories in the FEATURES section and not the NEWS section, they obviously don't know the difference....and must be having a slow brain day. Ah well, people are stupid. It's a fact. Don't argue....

Other than that, work is going well. I'm working on a story about a few local folks' best Christmas memories. Should be a neat one. And, we finished the January/February Lubbock Magazine last week so it should be hitting newsstands in a couple weeks. Yay!
I'm up to my ears in the March/April issue, which has a gardening theme. I told my boss I found it ironic that I was writing these stories, seeing as I know nothing about gardening...having been raised by a "black thumb"...that would be my mother. :)
We're looking forward to a Turner family get-together this Saturday with my Uncle Eddie's whole family, Uncle Doug and Aunt Terri, and my Aunt Kathie's entire family, including the two cousins and their spouses/kids from North Carolina! Then next week my folks are coming to spend Christmas with us, so that will be nice too. Since we're newbies at our jobs, Isaiah and I both only have off Christmas Day, so we really couldn't go anywhere this year. Next year it's the Morgan side's turn, so I'm hopeful we can make the trip out there for the holidays.
Well, I'm making chili for Isaiah's department party tonight so I'd better check on it. I'm making so much it had to go in two pots....6 lbs. ground beef, 5 cans diced tomatoes, 5 cans tomato sauce, 3 onions, 1 bell pepper, 3 cans pinto beans, 2 cans black beans and more spices than you can shake a stick at. Just hoping he can transport it to Plainview without dousing the backseat of his car....eeek!
