So this week I'm 20 weeks along in my pregnancy -- halfway there! I still haven't gained any weight although I'm sporting a belly (pics to come), so the little gal is doing her job and sucking up all my calories, I guess. My doctor isn't worried about it, so I figure it's fine. Let the kid snack on some of my extra padding! ;)
We signed the monstrous stack of house papers two weeks ago today and then went to San Marcos for the weekend for our friends Brooke and Heath's wedding. Then Dad came the following Monday and we moved all last week. He's still here, almost two weeks later, helping us install new appliances, stripping wall paper, fixing the fence, etc. He's so much help, I think I'll make him move in the guest room permanently! Wonder if I could convince him to do my laundry! Ha ha. He swears he's going home on Saturday, so I'll be all alone with the dogs in the evening again. Boo!
We love the house, although it's had its glitches. We've had some plumbing issues but that's the main thing. I think all the leaks, drips, bubbling drains and squirting pipes are fixed. (Crossing my fingers here.) The fridge wouldn't fit in its designated space, so the neighbor came over and helped Isaiah cut the countertops back so we could squeeze it in. The fence had some holes in it so one day I looked out and the neighbor's dog was running around in our backyard...and probably leaving presents. Aaaaand, there are boxes EVERYWHERE. I feel like every five minutes I'm asking Dad or Isaiah, "Have you seen ______?"
We've met a few of our neighbors and they are great so far. The cute little older man next door is just friendly as can be and stops by every couple of days to check on us, but we're sad because he's selling his home and moving this summer. Why do the good ones have to go?
We're slowly making progress and it's starting to feel more like home. Tug absolutely is in heaven. He just runs in circles around the backyard because he's so happy with all the space and grass (versus the dirt at our old rent house). Murphy looks very small and insignificant in the backyard, but I think he's adjusting to all the space. There's nothing better than sitting out on our new patio in the evening.
I'll post pictures soon once the place is cleaned up a bit more. Wish us luck unpacking!
Happy Easter to everyone this weekend. We will rejoice for He is RISEN!
