Spring Vacation

Last week we headed down to Mom and Dad's house in San Marcos for a week of vacation to spend time with family and friends. Clay, Maryann and the girls came to visit the first weekend we were there and we also got to spend time with Isaiah's sister and her family and two sets of his cousins. We also managed to pop over to College Station for a day and visit some friends in New Braunfels as well. We put something like 1,500 miles on our car in one week. Eeek!

On Saturday, we left Kendall home with her Grandpa and took Loren and Camryn to Aquarena Springs to ride the glass-bottom boats. We had a good time, although without Ralph the Swimming Pig, it's really not Aquarena...

That evening, we all headed to Gruene to meet Isaiah's sister and her family, his cousin Menesia and her family (who were visiting from Spokane) and his cousin Debbie at the Gristmill for dinner. It was crazy with 20 people, including several kiddos, but we had fun. In addition to this cute cowboy hat Isaiah bought for Kendall, he also purchased some sour cream & onion flavored crickets and gave them to all his nieces! They didn't believe that they were actually crickets to they each ate several! Blech! :)

Sunday evening we barbecued with Isaiah's family and then on Monday, we spent the day with them in San Antonio, visiting the Alamo, having lunch on the river and taking one of the riverboat tours.

Tuesday Kendall practiced her piano playing with Nana...

And wore her A&M t-shirt to support the Lady Aggies in their quest for the national championship....of course she was sound asleep when the game started, but she sent positive dreams their way!

On Wednesday, we drove over to College Station to meet one of my former co-workers Brenda and our friend Ally for lunch at the old diner we used to frequent when we lived in College Station. It was so good to see them and we miss them!

In the afternoon, we went to my friend Allison's house so Kendall could take a nap, but Isaiah wanted to go up to campus and see what was going on with the women's basketball team. They had a welcoming event for them at the basketball arena and so Isaiah popped in for a bit. He said it was crazy how many people were there!

Later in the afternoon, we went over to see our friends Rose, Brent, Sarah, Alexis and Sam. It was way too short a visit, but I was so glad we got to see them and let Kendall meet them!

THEN, that night we hung out with our friends Allison, Eric and their son Owen, and Megan, Jeremy and their daughter Addie. Ugh, I miss those girls so much and it was so good to see them, but of course a few hours just isn't ever enough.

On Thursday, we met Isaiah's cousin Amy and her boyfriend for lunch in Gruene. Kendall had fun until she got so tired she fell asleep at the table in Isaiah's lap!

On Friday, we went and had dinner with my friend Lisa and her husband Matt. We enjoyed getting to spend time with them, and Kendall got some lovin' from Lisa. I love how they have the same expression!

Although the bluebonnets are super scarce this year because of the lack of rain, I had to get a few pictures of Kendall in them in Mom & Dad's yard. Here she is trying to eat the bluebonnet her Daddy was trying to hand her...

Little happy baby!

The fam...

It was a super busy week but we had a great time and Kendall did really well just rolling with the punches. Unfortunately she's been really congested this week and started coughing all yucky this morning, so I took her to the doctor. The diganosis? Double ear infections...sigh.... The hard part is she's probably been dealing with them all week, but she's such a happy baby, I had no idea! Oh well, we've started antibiotics and will hopefully get this licked quickly.

Anyway, we're back home, Isaiah's back at work and we're back to reality!
