It was spring in San Marcos when we visited my folks in early March, but has taken a while longer to make its way up here in the Panhandle. It’s finally nice enough that we’ve been spending lots of time outside. Kendall is loving being able to run around in the front and back yards, insists on being taken on wagon rides as often as possible, and loves to point out the window and let us know anytime she sees a bird or a dog.
Isaiah is still trucking along at work, dealing with all the crazy stuff that comes his way. He still manages to get dirty enough that he leaves his work clothes out in the garage at least once a week b/c he knows I’ll freak if he wears that nasty stuff inside. :) I just don’t want to know what it is that’s splattered all over his jeans….
I’m loving my job and thankfully getting a lot of compliments from the coaches and people in the community. In the last few weeks, I’ve been writing a feature story and a column every week, as well as covering softball, baseball, girls and boys golf, girls and boys tennis and girls and boys track & field. WHEW! And I’ve only been sunburned once! I put on sunscreen to spend the afternoon down in Lubbock at the district track meet last Thursday, but didn’t plan on staying five hours. It was just too fun to leave! My nose has finally quit peeling, I think….
Tonight was our last Crown Financial lesson in our church Life Group for the semester. I just have to put a plug out there for it – this study has literally changed my life. I told Isaiah I want to read it every year just so I remember everything we’ve learned. It was exactly what we both needed, right when we needed it. Isn’t God perfect in his timing that way? If you’ve never taken a Crown class, I don’t care if you’re a pauper or a prince, it’s a great study to go through.
I’ll share a few pictures from late March until I can get caught up with Easter pics. Since Isaiah had to work all day on a Saturday and Sunday a few weeks ago, his boss gave him two Mondays off so we could spend time together as a family, which was great. Right now with me working on Saturdays to put the Sunday paper out, we really only have Sunday together.
On one of those Mondays, we drove down to Lubbock to take Kendall to the Science Spectrum. Most of the activities were for older kids, but she still had fun.
Checking out the Easter chicks and bunnies with Daddy…
Playing at the humongous water table and splashing everywhere!
I knew the bubble area would be her favorite, and boy was I right! We had to practically drag her away!
Momma making the best bubbles! :)
Dinosaurs with Daddy…
Giant teeth with Mommy…and why not?!?!
A girl and her best friend (look how he’s holding his paw over the bone…he’d allowed her to take it away and give it back several times, but I think he was gently putting his foot down this time!)
Sporting her pink and white gingham bucket hat to help Daddy plant flowers in the front flower box the following Monday off.
If you know me at all, you know I love to read. I think Kendall is going to give me a run for my money in this department. The kid LOVES to be read to and would look at books all day if we’d let her.
Her new favorite thing is to climb up in our big cushy chair with a book (and sometimes her sippy cup as well!) to read all by herself. I caught her the other day checking out a favorite, “I’ll Teach My Dog a Lot of Words.”
Next up….Easter with the fam!
Love seeing the new pics! She is so beautiful! Glad your job is still going well. :-)
