Since Kendall and I are both unemployed, we decided to take a trip down to visit my family for 10 days or so. Poor Isaiah had to stay here and hold down the fort while we were gone. But don’t worry, the weekend before I left, I made two shepherd’s pies and two King Ranch chicken casseroles for the freezer, and stocked up on all his (disgusting) favorites like frozen pizzas, corn dogs, hot pockets, etc.
This pic was at home a few days before we left. I think Kendall was excited about our upcoming trip!
On Thursday the 4th, we flew down to Austin and were picked up by Mom & Dad. Kendall did great on the flight and only got a little irritated toward the end b/c we were pretty cramped on a full flight. I was able to distract her with Puffs though, and aside from a glass of water spilled in my lap (thanks to K), we were fine! Friday we headed to Houston to see Clay & Maryann’s new house and celebrate Camryn’s fourth birthday for the weekend.
I loved this pic…we were all chatting in C&M’s kitchen and I looked over at Kendall. She looked so small sitting there on the floor by herself!
Since Houston is super humid and it was over 100 degrees at all times, we went swimming at least once every day. Here’s Grampy with Kendall and Camryn:

Kendall did great in the pool and enjoyed sitting in the baby floatie and being toted around. My little fishy!
Clay being “attacked” by both girls!
The bathing beauties…Auntie Maryann and Kendall!

Me with my lil’ sweetumses:
Ugh, I didn’t get any pictures from Camryn’s birthday party, but it was crazy with a bunch of four-year olds running around! She opened presents from us on Sunday night, so this pic is of her soooo excited about the dress Nana and Grandpa gave her. This girl LOVES her some dresses.
Kendall sitting around and playing with one of the girls’ flip-flops…
We had a great visit with Clay’s family and headed back to San Marcos on Monday morning. The rest of the week was spent hanging out and relaxing at home, going out to lunch and seeing friends.
Here’s Kendall with one of my best friends, Lisa:
My friend Kacey’s little boy, Harper, was hilarious and a total boy…everything from trying to sit on Kendall to chunking toys at her. They had fun though, and it was good for K to be around another kid her age for once!
This is my new favorite pic of our little squirt. She was just sitting in Mom & Dad’s closet playing with their shoes, but I loved this look on her face!
This is her relatively new ridiculous cackle face. So silly!
Kendall LOVES her some Grampy-time, and her favorite things were to sit with him in his recliner, drink his water and chew on his yellow highlighter. Yes, it’s truly the small things in life….
Now that she’s crawling on her knees and is super mobile, she’s pulling up on everything. She’s also walking great with help and cruising along furniture on her own. She loved looking out the French doors at the birds and squirrels on the patio, so here’s the view from the inside…
Aaaaand the view from the outside! Gotta love that smushy face!
Nana and her lil’ girl!
We had a great visit and headed back on Sunday afternoon. Thankfully this time we had our own row on the plane, so Kendall had plenty of time to crawl around and be a menace. Isaiah was glad to have us home and he’d even cleaned up the house for us. Yay!
Look at what a big girl Kendall is! Standing up at the glass doors all smooshy face. What a cutie pie! I love your new fav pic, too. :) Glad y'all got some Grampy and Nanna time!
