So I don’t have a whole lot to report, other than things are going along just swimmingly around here. Kendall has started to clap, wave bye-bye and point at things she’s interested in. We’re battling her urges to throw food and her sippy cup on the floor when she’s had enough. It’s a hard habit to break…especially when Tuggy is always there, happily waiting to clean up just anything she tosses his way! She also had a little bout of tonsillitis last week but it’s cleared up just fine.
We visited a local church here in P-View last weekend and dropped K in the nursery while we went to the main service. She just went right to the worker lady and smiled at us as we were walking away to reassure us that she was just fine. When we went to pick her up, two other nursery workers said what a great baby she was and one man even said, “Oh, she’s my favorite…she’s SO good!” That’s what a momma likes to hear!
Here are a few recent pics…
This is my girl, happy as a clam when I go in to get her in the morning…wild hair and all! Her new thing this week is to wait until I get close to the crib, then she points to the mobile so I’ll wind it up. Such a sweet little face!
I loved this pic of K watching the world go by out our front door – she and Tug battle for the best spot in front of the door and the windows. :) She looks so little sitting there! (Try to ignore our dead grass…) :(
Isaiah’s sister Amber sent Kendall this highchair/walker thing for her birthday and she’s really taken to it in the last week or two. As long as we stay on the plush carpet, she can walk all by herself behind it and it doesn’t go too fast! She will go from one side of the living room to the other, and only needs help turning the thing around so she can go back the other way! Doesn’t she look proud of herself?!?!
One of the best things about hand-me-downs is that I get to revisit some of the clothes I bought for Clay’s girls when they were little! I can’t remember if I got this shirt for Loren or Camryn, but I bought it on one of my work trips to Washington D.C. several years back. It says “First Lady” and I thought it was so cute! (K also sported a shirt this week that I’d bought Loren at the Seattle Aquarium probably 5 years ago on a business trip!) Also, I believe my sis-in-law gave us this froggy/ladybug rattle as well and Kendall still loves it. I keep thinking I’ll put it away with the other “little” baby toys but she loves to carry that thing around and just shaaaaake it! (At least she has better control and doesn’t whack herself in the head with it like she used to! Hee hee!)
While Murphy is taking an extended vacation and Mom & Dad’s, Tuggy is Kendall’s best playmate. She absolutely adores him and he is so good and gentle with her. He lets her climb all over him, yank on his tags, pull his ears, fiddle with his toenails, etc. Here she was chunking her rattle at him to see what he would do. Doesn’t he look like the ever-suffering, sweet big brother?!?
I must admit, there are times I get a bit stir-crazy staying home with a constantly moving 14-month old, but really, I feel very blessed. Of course I love my hubby and all, but this little twerp I spend my days with has become my lil’ BFF and I absolutely LOVE spending time with her!
Being a stay-at-home mom definitely isn’t what I had planned, but I love it and I feel like this is where I’m meant to be. Isaiah and I have been discussing me going back to work full-time for financial reasons, but I’m just not sure if my heart’s totally in it. I actually might have the opportunity to work at a local Mother’s Day Out two days a week and K could attend for half tuition, so I’m praying this works out if it’s God’s will. I’d love to get out of the house some, let K have the opportunity to socialize with other kids and make a bit of extra money for our family. So we’ll see….
I’ll leave you with the verse a gal shared at church on Sunday, which totally spoke to my heart and all this inner turmoil about employment and financial issues:
“The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” – Zeph. 3:17
My goodness she is a cutie. I love all the new pics! And it is amazing to see that K and E are right at the same spot with so many new discoveries- pointing, using a push walker, etc. I hear ya about the inner turmoil, and I love the verse the Lord laid on your heart.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the first pic. Miss you!
ReplyDeleteI love that girl so much. We had so much fun this week when I got to keep her. She is literally the most precious, easy going little girl! I can't wait to get to love on her again!
