Sorry...Isaiah sings that Weezer song all the time, especially since this weekend (more to come...). He's a very silly young man....

When Isaiah got home from work on Friday, he decided we should go to the drive-in and even eat dinner there! Surprisingly the food is not bad at all. It's definitely not healthy, but a fun splurge. We took Murphy with us, but no Tuggy this time -- he's just so dang big he takes up the whole back end of the Jeep! We saw the new Quentin Tarantino movie, Inglourious Basterds. It's classic Tarantino -- a dark, dark comedy with some scenes that you just can't believe he went there or went that far....but he always does. It was good though and we enjoyed it. Makes you wonder what might have been if one the many plots on Hitler's life would have worked out.

Then on Saturday I was wanting to get out of the house and do something different. I found a website for Lubbock Moonlight Musicals and as luck would have it, Saturday night was the last performance of the summer! They put on "Guys & Dolls" and "Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story" this summer and we were able to attend the one about Buddy Holly. The performances take place at this great outdoor amphitheater in east Lubbock and it was a perfect night. We took our lawn chairs and Sonic drinks and had a great time! There was lots of singing and shenanigans for the whole 2.5 hours -- it was definitely money well spent. The guy that played Buddy was actually from London and has been in the performance of Buddy over there. He could sing and play the guitar really well. I think that's one of the things that impressed me about the show, that so many people could sing AND play instruments. Anyway, we're excited to go back next summer -- they're putting on Buddy again, as well as Fiddler on the Roof (love it) and Beauty & the Beast. So fun!

After church on Sunday we met our friends Tyler and Terra for lunch before they headed back to Austin/S.A. area. These two are getting married in October and Isaiah is a groomsman. We've known them for a few years now and they are both so sweet and fun. When it cooled off a little that evening, we took the dogs down to the park. We ran Tuggy's butt as much as possible, throwing the tennis ball at the elementary school across the street, trying to wear him out. Then we let him go swimming....his favorite thing in the world. THEN, we picked up pizza and went over to have dinner with Erin, Damon, the kids and Andi. Isaiah had fun driving Cayden's remote control car around! My little man-child.... ;)
